ISELIN—The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) today presented JoAnn Trezza, vice president of human resources with Arrow Group Industries, Inc. of Wayne, with its 2005 Leonard C. Johnson Award for her work on behalf of the Association and its member companies.

NJBIA President Philip Kirschner presented the award during the Association's 2005 Public Policy Forum, which was held at the Sheraton

at Woodbridge Place in Iselin. The Johnson award winners are individuals who have made a long-term commitment to the work of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association.

“We are proud to present the award to JoAnn Trezza,” Kirschner said. “JoAnn Trezza has used her years of hands-on experience to provide key insights into human resources issues at a time when employers have faced some of their greatest challenges in labor legislation and regulations. We are grateful for her tremendous service to the Association and its more than 23,000 employers.”

Kirschner said Trezza has been remarkably generous in sharing her expertise in human resource issues, which play a very big role in the operations of many NJBIA member companies. She has been an outstanding chair of the NJBIA Human Resources Committee, where she analyzes countless bills and policy initiatives, and advises the Association on the real-world impact they will have on businesses.

Trezza has also been an advocate for New Jersey employers through her service on many State boards. And as a featured speaker at numerous NJBIA seminars, she has provided practical advice on topics such as complying with State and federal leave laws and developing workplace handbooks.

The Leonard C. Johnson Award is named after Leonard Johnson, president of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association from 1963 through 1977. He was a highly regarded industry leader and served as an advisor to four New Jersey governors.
